The forestry sector faces a crisis and works at 35% of capacity

The forestry and timber sector is in a deep crisis due to low production, working 35% of installed capacity. The growth of imports, the substitution of wood for metals and PVC, the lack of a domestic market, the fall of foreign markets, and the contraction of the community and private economy have affected the sector. It led to the layoff of more than 25,000 workers in the last eight years.
