Despite rains, 18 fires persist in Santa Cruz

Despite the rains registered in the last week in most of the department of Santa Cruz, there are still 18 forest fires that affect six municipalities, mainly San Ignacio and Concepción. So far this year, 310 forest fires have been recorded in this department, of which 292 extinguished.

The Hunger Bond will require $570 mn to benefit 4 million people

Construction permits plummeted 69%

The recovery of the construction sector is slow. Until August, two indicators show that the activity will take time to recover due to the effects generated by the coronavirus. According to figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), permits for civil works fell by 69%, while cement consumption dropped another 36%.
