Deforestation over 300,000 hectares per year raises concerns and calls for webinar “Climate Finance for Forests and Water: Success Stories”

In Bolivia 52.5 million hectares are covered by forest, more than 15% in mountain regions. 3.4 million hectares of forest and vegetation was affected in the primary forest fires of 2019, in what is considered one of the greatest natural disasters in the country’s recent history. Deforestation in Bolivia exceeds 300,000 hectares per year, which represents an emission of between 30 and 40 million tons of CO2. The second webinar “Climate Finance for Forests and Water: Successful Experiences” will look at it. It will hold on August 12, from 10:30 to 12:30 Bolivian time.
