IMF expects that Bolivia’s economy will grow by 4.5% in 2018 and 4.2% in 2019

The IMF expects that Bolivia’s GDP will grow to 4.2% in 2019 and fall further in 2020 to 3.9%. The organisation said that they believed that the current account deficit will fall slightly due to a fall in imports of capital goods, but capital inflows and remittances are also expected to be weaker. International reserves are also expected to decrease, falling below the adequacy metric of the fund’s reserves in 2020, which means the country would be more vulnerable to external shocks.
